Electrician Job Summary
We are looking for two experienced and suitably qualified Electricians to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring that electrical systems, machinery, and equipment remain safe, reliable, and fully operational.
The role involves conducting electrical installations, preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs, and upgrades across various electrical systems. The Electricians will also carry out routine testing, inspections, and troubleshooting to identify potential issues and minimise equipment downtime.
Strong attention to detail, a commitment to workplace safety, and the ability to work accurately under pressure are essential. The successful candidates will be expected to comply with all applicable electrical regulations, safety procedures, and company standards while maintaining a high level of workmanship.
A key part of the position will be supporting reliable power availability by monitoring electrical systems, attending to faults, and assisting with the maintenance of backup and uninterrupted power supply equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities – Electrician
Install, wire, maintain, test, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and installations.
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on electrical infrastructure and associated equipment.
Diagnose electrical faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
Conduct electrical testing, inspections, and fault-finding in accordance with applicable standards and safety requirements.
Install and maintain distribution boards, control panels, switches, sockets, lighting systems, and other electrical components.
Assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of backup generators, UPS systems, and other emergency power equipment.
Monitor electrical systems to ensure reliable and uninterrupted power supply.
Identify potential electrical hazards and take corrective action where necessary.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant legislation, regulations, codes, and company procedures.
Complete maintenance reports, inspection records, job cards, and other required documentation.
Use electrical testing equipment safely and correctly when carrying out inspections and fault diagnosis.
Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns and emergencies.
Work closely with other maintenance and technical teams to resolve electrical issues.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition.
Follow all health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures at all times.
Assist with electrical projects, upgrades, modifications, and new installations as required.
Provide technical support and recommendations regarding electrical faults and equipment performance.
Ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard of workmanship.
Qualifications – Electrician
Qualified Electrician with a recognised electrical trade qualification.
Valid electrical licence or wireman’s licence, where applicable.
Relevant technical or vocational qualification in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Trade.
Minimum 2–3 years’ practical experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and fault-finding.
Proven experience working with low-voltage electrical systems and associated equipment.
Experience with generators, UPS systems, backup power, or electrical distribution systems will be an advantage.
Good knowledge of electrical regulations, standards, and occupational health and safety requirements.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Competent in using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
Valid driver’s licence may be required.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a technical/maintenance team.
Willingness to work shifts, overtime, standby, or respond to emergency electrical breakdowns when required.
