A leading manufacturer is inviting suitably qualified persons for a position of Instrument Technician based in Bulawayo.


The job


Reporting to the Engineer, the applicant will be responsible for the following:


To inspect, test, repair, and adjust instruments that detect, measure, and record changes in industrial environments.

Assist Engineers to improve instrument and system performance.

Removes defective instruments from system, decontaminates, disassembles, and cleans instruments, and replaces defective parts.

Reassembles instruments and replaces instruments in system, using hand tools.

Lubricates instruments and replaces defective wiring and tubing.

Calibrates readings on instruments according to standards and adjusts phasing and aligns stages to ensure accuracy of recording and indicating function.

Records calibrations made, parts and components used, and inventory of parts on hand.

Prepares schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in instruments, circuits, and systems.

Records calibrations made, parts and components used, and inventory of parts on hand.

Install VSD, and various control variables instruments.

The Person


Apprentice trained class 1 Instrument technician.

At least ND in instrumentation and control or electronics engineering.

At least 5 years’ experience in mining or heavy industry.

Ability to generate and modify PLCs programmes.

Ability to read blue prints, drawings, schematics

Good communication skills to work with multi-dimensional team
