Marketing Officer – Department of Pathology

Duties and Responsibilities

-Planning and developing a marketing strategy for the Centre in order to promote the image, brand awareness and services of the organisation.
-Establishes and maintains effective relations and personal contact with existing and prospective clients including medical doctors and in private practice, hospital managers and hospital marketers as well as key suppliers and service providers.
-Proactively marketing and selling diagnostic and research services to existing and prospective customers.
-Participates in and represents the Pathology Centre in marketing to promote the image and services of the organisation.
-Assists with product/service orientation and training of laboratory administrative staff to ensure they are familiarised with relevant laboratory/medical technology related terminology and telephone etiquette.

Qualifications and Experience

-Diploma/Degree in Marketing qualification.
-3 – 5 years relevant working experience (Preferably in a medical setting
-Computer literate.
-Knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems (ISO 15189) will be an added advantage.
-Proven Sales and Marketing knowledge and skills is critical
-Must be customer oriented – Client liaison is critical
-Ability to maintain confidentiality and maintain ethical behaviour
-Must have a valid class 4 driver’s license
