Please note that the duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:
(a) Teaching – the incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.
(b) University Service – the incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences and seminars, among others.
(c) Research – the incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.
(d) Innovations – leading to tangible products and services.
(e) Industrialization – through commercialization of products.

FACULTY OF EDUCATION
Department of Science, Technology and Design Education
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (1 Full Time Post) Gweru Campus

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must possess the following competencies:
-Contribute to the fulfilment of the University’s mission by engaging in teaching, research, community engagement, innovation, and industrialization.
-Provide academic leadership within the Department, taking the lead in initiating, guiding, and actively participating in both fundamental and applied research endeavours.
-Ability to teach Agriculture modules at both undergraduate and post graduate levels.
-Ability to supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students’ research work, and assess students on Work Related Learning.
-The successful candidate must demonstrate strong practical competence in Agriculture.
-Should be hands-on and able to translate theory into practice through demonstrations, fieldwork, laboratory/greenhouse activities, production projects, and/or community-based agricultural initiatives.
-Evidence of practical experience will be an added advantage (e.g. project reports, farm/enterprise involvement, or relevant certifications).

Qualifications and Experience

-Bachelor of Education degree in Agriculture or its equivalent with at least a 2.1 pass.
-Master’s Degree in Agriculture Education or an equivalent qualification.
-A recognised teaching qualification.
-Teaching experience at University level is an added advantage.
-PhD or proof of studying for a PhD in the relevant area is an added advantage.
