POST H: IT TECHNICIAN (1 POST)
-Promptly respond to and resolve hardware and software faults reported by retail shop staff.
-Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to computers, peripherals, and other IT equipment.
-Maintain and monitor the local network to ensure it operates smoothly.
-Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and resolve them promptly.
-Collaborate with the university IT department for network-related support.
-Enter product information into the inventory management system accurately.
-Ensure product pricing is up-to-date and reflects current promotions or changes.
-Create and manage product codes that match the inventory system for efficient tracking and sales.
-Implement a standardized coding system for products.
-Ensure that weighing scales and point-of-sale (POS) systems are properly integrated and function correctly.
-Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the scales and POS equipment.
-Monitor the health and performance of the server infrastructure.
-Perform routine maintenance tasks, including updates, backups, and security patches.
-Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify and address business challenges, such as staff purchases.
-Develop or enhance systems and applications to provide solutions that meet evolving business needs.
-Ensure that systems are scaleable, efficient, and user-friendly.
-Maintain accurate records of IT-related activities, including fault reports, system changes, and updates.
-Document system configurations and procedures for future reference.
-Provide training and support to retail shop staff on the proper use of IT systems and equipment.
-Assist users in resolving common technical issues.
-Carrying out any other relevant functions as assigned.
At least 5 ‘O’ level subjects
At least a Diploma in Information Technology
At least a relevant IT certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT)
At least 1 year experience in a similar position in the Retail FMCG industry
