Zuava Petroleum invites suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Electrician, based in Harare. The successful candidate will report to the Projects and Maintenance Engineer.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment and control systems. -Diagnose electrical faults and carry out corrective maintenance. -Perform preventative and routine maintenance in line with maintenance schedules. -Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and manuals. -Inspect electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. -Receive and verify breakdown maintenance works through the help desk system. -Conduct risk assessments prior to repair works in line with SHEQ policies and procedures. -Monitor and follow up on breakdown closures by contractors on a daily basis. -Carry out bi-annual inspections, complete checklists and submit reports to the Projects and Maintenance Engineer in line with preventive maintenance plans and statutory requirements. -Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in wiring, equipment and fixtures to ensure system compatibility and safety.
Qualifications and Experience
-National Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution. -Valid Class 1 Journeyman Licence. -Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in electrical installations and maintenance works. -Experience in working with hydrocarbons, Aviation and LPG operations will be an added advantage.
Skills and Competencies -Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare accurate technical reports. -Ability to plan and organize tasks in line with operational requirements. -Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. -Ability to diagnose faults and implement effective solutions. -High attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
