VACANCY – DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR
ROLE PROFILE
AFC Commercial Bank, a subsidiary of AFC Holdings, is on the hunt for a solid candidate to take up the role of Database Administrator. Reporting to the Manager – ICT Operations, the Database Administrator will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining the organisation’s databases to ensure iron-clad security, integrity, and stability.
-Installing and configuring databases.
-Conducting database performance tuning and administration.
-Controlling and managing user access to databases.
-Diagnosing and resolving database issues.
-Ensuring database systems availability.
-Implementing strong database security controls.
-Performing database backups and recovery.
-Ensuring database integrity.
-Executing system and database capacity planning.
Job Skills and Competencies
-Strong working knowledge of database administration methods or techniques.
-Oracle 19c certification or later versions.
-Ability to adapt to change and meet demanding deadlines.
Qualifications and Experience
-A degree in Information Technology, Computer Studies, Information Systems, or an equivalent field.
-Experience in Oracle RAC, ASM, RMAN, and Data Guard Technologies is required.
-Knowledge of SQL, Linux, and PostgreSQL.
-Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL experience is a prerequisite.
-At least 3 years’ relevant experience in a banking ICT environment.
-A clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence is a must.
